John "Jack" Fagen

Jack has been in the life and health insurance business since 1971. He has received many industry awards and recognitions over the years.

In 1975 and 1976, Jack was listed on The Insurance Salesman 53 and 54 All Star Honor Roll, a listing of the top producers by company in the nation.

Jack was honored by Governor Mitch Daniels and Insurance Commissioner Carol Cutter in June 2009 by naming him Honorary Insurance Commissioner for his many contributions to the field of insurance.

Jack has been a member of the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU) Leading Producers Round Table since 1998. He was named the Member of the Year for the 1996-97 at the Northwest Association of Health Underwriters (NIAHU).

Jack is currently on the Indiana NAHU state board is and President of NIAHU. He is also a current member of NAIFA, the National Association of Independent Financial Advisors.

Dan Fagen

Dan has a Bachelors of Science Degree in both Financial Planning and Consumer Affairs from Purdue University.

Dan has worked at Financial Arts since 2001. Before that, Dan worked at a major health insurance company where he was able to get extensive training in individual, group and self-funded health insurance.

In recent years, Dan has focused on selling group and individual health insurance and life insurance. He has also been doing more employee benefit consulting over the last 5 years. It has been said many times that Dan is swell.

Dan is a member of NAIFA, the National Association of Independent Financial Advisors, and is their health insurance liaison.

Valerie Fagen

In December 1997, Val earned her Bachelors of Science in Finance from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale.

After several jobs in the customer service field and an accounts receivable role with a property management company, she came to work for Financial Arts, Inc. full-time as an administrative assistant in March, 2005.

As the workload began to increase, Val pursued and earned her insurance license in 2006. At this time, her primary work load became the senior market. This includes Medicare Supplements, Part D, and Medicare Health Plans. Navigating the Medicare system for her clients has become her passion and she truly loves her job and her clients.

Valerie is a member of NIAHU, the Northwest Association of Health Underwriters, and is currently serving on the Board of Directors. She is the Past President of the Kankakee Valley Women's Club and serves on the Board of Directors of the DeMotte Chamber of Commerce.

Karen Retzlaff

Karen started working part-time for Financial Arts, Inc. in 1982. Back then, the insurance quotes were done by hand and computers weren't even used in the office!

After leaving for a few years for a job at a local hospital, Karen returned to Financial Arts full-time in 2002 as an Administrative Assistant. Karen does more than just answer the phone, she specializes in customer service, data entry, application processing and health insurance quotes.
